An extra dose of bells

At 7 this morning the church bells rang for a very long time, and then I remembered that it is July 14th.

Today is Bastille Day which is celebrated on the 14th July every year which is another Public holiday here in France.

It commemorates the 1790 Fete de la Federation held on the first anniversary of the storming of the Bastille, this was a symbolic day it represents the uprising of the French people. There wont be any festivities in the village it is more of a family day here.

At the moment the parades in Paris are being televised on TF2. It is too sunny to stay in and watch tv, so we are off to the forest for a walk.
