As the weather warms up I often awake when the church bells ring at seven. I can make out that it is light out, and it looks sunny outside. The crazy wind which yesterday whipped around the garden has dropped.
Today I must do some ordinary things like food shopping. En route I do hope to take a few photographs, we will be driving past the American Cemetary just outside St James. The pretty town of St James isn't exactly on my doorstep, but makes a boring task more interesting.
Springtime is warm colours on cool days.
The Frenchword for gladness is joie
The Frenchword for doorstep is seuil.
Etymology for the word vernal.

Lovely photo comme d'habitude. By the way, why DO the bells always ring at 7. I sometimes hear them coming from the church in the little village near us, if the wind is in the right direction
That is a brilliant shot! As I sit here with more snow fall, a bitter wind and temperatures below zero, I really am beginning to wonder if spring will ever come along.
I've never heard of St James - but then why should I have? It just sounds so anglais.
Happy sauntering and shopping
No church bells, just a small child, not quite so romantic some how. You find some lovely quotes, and take some lovely photos.
The bells ring at seven, I guess because it is time to get up and time for communion?..But dont ask me I dont do church.
I love snow but I guess you long for a change?
St James = St Jacques, I wrote about him before.
Church bells are not romantic, but are quite useful!!! LOL
