" I think of life as a good book. The further you get into it, the more it begins to make sense." Harold Kushner
The snow has fallen and I discover that France, or at least this part of it is unable to cope with a heavy fall of neige. School buses are cancelled, roads closed, lorries have been removed from major routes. Driving to my French class was not an option, so I telephoned prof and she was staying at home too.
Recently some of my time indoors has been used to have fun with photographs on Flickr, and playing with my paints, trying out various ideas. I got some great art books from the library on Monday, so I am learning techniques and French all at the same time!

Hi Blu,
Happy New Year m'dear. Reading art books sounds rather good to me :)
Oh, I've opened up one of my photo blogs under my profile

That's a lovely picture - so abstract! And I like that quote too. Very true. It's been a very cold winter here in Texas - no snow, but cold and rain. If it's cold, I say at least let it snow! Stay warm.
Snug indoors with lovely books to look at sounds a splendid way to get over the worst of this weather.

Such beautiful photos. I love your whole ice series on Flickr!
A very Happy New Year to you!
Freezing cold here as well, with snow and chaos! Kids still at home - schools closed and impossible to drive anywhere!
Reading art books sounds wonderful!
Thanks everybody, still very cold and iced up here!
I am warm at home --- it is a bit too hot to go out much at present.
Wow! So GB isn't the only place not to cope with snow. That's news!
I enjoyed your photos on Flickr. I've never read an art book on technique but am tempted now.
We get so many of our words from the French don't we? It sounds much nicer to annulé a marriage than cancel it or incapacity benefit other than 'unable to' benefit. I'm amazed at how many there are.
Happy painting Blu.
I don't think its a bad thing that we all get stuck in the snow once in a while. I for one don't complain that the country shuts down, but its all we seem to hear during this quite magical time. I am a big believer in having time to reflect and what better time than when you cant get up and go out.
Love the photos on Flickr. Regards Dave
It's not just your part of France...My Dad is completely snowed in at the moment!!
Gorgeous photo and I'm very pleased that your still exploring your art...you talented lady you!!
(Sorry I've not been around much recently...Uni work has been taking over my life!!)
