Warm thoughts

~One can enjoy a wood fire worthily only when he warms his thoughts by it as well as his hands and feet. ~Odell Shepherd ~

The colourful months of October and November are almost upon us, the trees can be felled again, log piles stocked up.

After the buzzing chainsaws are finished the logs in the forest are neatly stacked, for local fires.

Giant pencils that need sharpening

Did you know that the pencil sharpener was invented by a French man called Bernard Lassimone, receiving French patent number 2444 in 1828.

Holding onto colour

Some French words

To have a waist like a wasp is taille
To carve, sharpen or prune is tailler
A pencil sharpener is taille-crayons

Warm wishes to all my blog readers.

All photographs are in my Made a favourite folder on Flickr.

Anticipation of warm wintry evenings next to the fire.....except we are going into summer, but I can wish.
