The shutters are down

Always walk through life as if you have something new to learn and you will. ~Vernon Howard

I am finding it hard to get back into my studies, the summer days snatch my time away and before I realise it another day has gone by.

August is almost upon us and I realise it is a month that I dont really care for. The French people flock to the coast for their summer vacance, and around here in the villages and small towns, shops and restaurants close, everyone really does take a holiday.

Still I can always visit Fougeres, which is just the other side of the forest. Holiday makers will be admiring the buildings on the various tourist trails. I can tag along since I am always armed with my camera and pretend I am on holiday too.

Here is a little walk through my life I have been watching the French people.

At work entertaining people for an euro.

A leaflet Monsieur?

Sorry I cant stop!
Actually I did get to the coast recently but it was raining!

The French for something is quelque chose.

The French word for time that flies, or to rob, is vol.

My Dad's not a fan of France in August either!! He always says that St'Cere is like a ghost town in August!!

Atm our little corner of Brittany is awash with holiday makers come to camp by the canals and visit all the fest nozes. It is getting harder and harder to find a solitary place to walk the dogs in the evening.

July and August is very busy here, with many British and Dutch tourists........we tend to spend a lot of time at home and then venture out again in September. Although if you travel further south of the lot you can still find some peaceful spots. Great photos again.....how do you get such vivid colour?

Love your photos. Most of Europe is either awash with tourists or ghost towns... a bit like Sweden in July.

I love France anytime I can get it.

In two weeks I'll be enjoying a month there. Can't wait!

French Fancy has had problems with blogger and I have too. How are you able to have Robert Brault's post on the 'lighter side' it doesn't even show up on mine?

Yes, I think your photos are brilliant too.

That must be interesting ... to blend in with the tourists and pretend you are one of them. I'm sure every one of them will be jealous if you tell them you live there!
