Hue and Cry

~ "Life is like a good black and white photograph, there's black, there's white, and lots of shades in between." ~   Karl Heiner ~

After the storm which blew out various electrical gadgets, we invested in a box which means via satelite we can view UK tv!.. Not sure if this is a great idea yet.  However whilst I was learning how to use the clever box I viewed recorded and paused Oliver Twist, a very old black and white classic!  One of the villains in the story is Bill Sykes and his cruelty causes his dog to betray him, and all the locals hunt him out!

Although I have heard this expression many times before I didn't realise what the full meaning was, so wikipedia came to my aid!   Hue and Cry is a process by which bystanders are summoned to assist in the apprehension of a criminal who has been witnessed in the act of a crime.

I rarely take black and white photographs, maybe I should try taking some more, here are a few off my Flickr photo stream.

To add some colour is colorer.
A loud outcry is clameur.

Sometimes only black and white will do. Someone (who?) once said that black and white was the colour of photography.
