Contentment

We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognising and appreciating what we do have. ~ Frederick Keonig

I read that quote, which after Christmas is rather ironic, since in my opinion Christmas is now a big shopping fete!  But contentment is so much more than gadgets and stuff, are you content with how you look, how many close friends you have, how good you are at your job or hobby!  Being content is a difficult thing to achieve and I am sure we all fail on various levels!

I guess it is some sort of inner peace, must strive harder!

Best wishes to you all from a rather rainy windy Bretagne!

I go through phases of utter contentment. At Christmas time I feel the exact opposite. Do you find that when you simplify your life contentment begins to return? I've been trying to put my finger on it and I think its about simplicity for me. Best wishes to you Blu.

Contentment is difficult to achieve sometimes isn't it...always worth striving for though!

You're so right! Feeling thankful for what we have and not focusing on what we don't have is a good step towards achieving contentment.

Yes, chase contentment. Let happiness find its own way home.

Having a place in France that we don't have the freedom to call home is a source of discontentment. All we want is to simplify life and live it. At the moment life is not simple. Perhaps we ought to begin counting our blessings.

I do hate the consumerism of Christmas. We'd all be happier if we could just learn to love what we have.

Lovely pic.

I am really enjoying the theme/design of your website. Do you ever run
into any internet browser compatibility problems? A couple of my blog audience
have complained about my site not working correctly in Explorer but
looks great in Firefox. Do you have any advice to help fix this problem?
